Robin Logan, the youngest sibling and fourth member of what has become known as the first family of skateboarding, joins her brothers, Skateboarding Hall of Fame 2009 inductee Bruce and 2015 SHoF inductee, Brian. Raised in Hermosa Beach, California, Robin joins SHoF inductees Wendy Bearer Bull, Laurie Turner Demott, Ellen Oneal and Laura Thornhill as one of skateboarding’s founding female pioneers–that critical group of the first female participants in the 1960s and ’70s to begin cracking the male-dominated facade of the sport and opening the doors for future female skaters.
First stepping on a skateboard at age four influenced by her brother Bruce, Robin would spend her childhood skating the schoolyards of Pier Avenue Junior High, Paul Revere, Bellagio and the Miracle Mile in Palos Verdes before moving to Encinitas in ’73 and discovering the hills of La Costa with her brothers. She would famously take second place in women’s freestyle at the 1975 Bahne-Cadillac Championships in Del Mar, toured the U.S. with he brothers in the Skateboard Expo traveling show, and is even credited as the first female to land a kickflip. Appearing on numerous TV shows, commercials and films, in addition to traveling to Tahiti, England, Germany and Canada. Robin continues to ride her skateboard to this day, and presently resides in Palm Desert, California.
