Frank Gardner

Frank Gardner RIP

Frank was Stoked on the Won’t Shut Up and Skate podcast, First to Support as he had literally Lived and Breathed Texas Skateboarding. We’ve known him 40 years since early days of Skatepark of Houston @skateparkofhouston where he was there helping Build the ramps then skating for hours.

I mean look at my photos – Frank was a Beast on Vert, literally shook the ramp with his powerful style. And a Funny Hoot to hang with! A top HTown Amateur, never turning pro – knee issues yet kept the loving stoke alive continuing to skate. His Handmade Skateboards paved the way of the Craft Makers while offering insight of his humor through his stickers and tees, not to mention beautiful artistry with intricate lace painted decks. He would Match any deck shape custom, he duplicated Bryan Pennington first Eppic model for buddy Aaron Davis (@superninjaironmonkeyknuckles).

We watched him openly Take graceful care of his mother with joy proving a great son. Later he sold the house, got a travel van, set up his storage-unit  @texicanskateboards shop and spent the hot-half of the year touring beautiful Northern Parks, skateparks and taco shacks. Living Dreams and his Loves.

Breakfast Tacos at Franks Fav spot near @texicanskateboards talking family, life, transitions and tales if living skateboarding, cherished chat … a couple of photos in this post, before @bangerinthehangar.

We also posted a few times here “On the road with Frank” Traveling through His eye was so much Fun.

Gonna miss Big Wet!
We will get that interview through everyone’s stories and tales to Celebrate all you gave us. Texas Legend

  1. Oh man…Rest in Peace Frank. Thank you for tge conversation and the rad custom deck. I had hoped to meet up and skate with you out in Montana. Shredding up to the end.

  2. one of my best friends. Ever. my mom saved our notes from high school in a book for me. Apparently she didn’t read them. I will cherish them Phranc. And always signed my paintings with the name you gave me. My heart hurts. I lost my mom after you lost yours and you walked me through it. I don’t know what happened. But I know that you will be missed by everyone that came in contact with you here. God there’s no one to talk to like you. I’m stunned.
