SHoF founder and executive director, Todd Huber explains, “There are two new events taking place at this year induction ceremony. This year’s celebration will include the presentation of Lifetime Achievement Awards to three of skateboarding’s legendary individuals—Richard Novak, George Powell and Steve Van Doren! These three gentlemen have all been involved in the development and expansion of skateboarding around the world for the past 50+ years. Everyone attending the celebration ceremony will have the opportunity to thank them for their contributions to skateboarding.”

Additionally, this year’s celebration will introduce a new feature highlighting the accomplishments of the 2026 inductees.
Huber announced that the traditional event program will be replaced by a special commemorative book created by Mike Ballard and Coan Buddy Nichols. The 324 page book features interviews and action photographs of the 18 current 2026 inductees, along with stories and photographs highlighting previously inducted SHoF members- Stacy Peralta, Glen E. Friedman, Tom Penny, Sean Sheffey, Vicki Vickers, John Lucero, Mark Gonzales and Tony Alva.
Attendees at the May 15, 2026 induction ceremony will have the opportunity to purchase the book during the event. The publication is now available for pre-order on the SHoF website, with shipping expected to begin after May 26, 2026.
The new SHoF 2026 book—more than 300 pages of action photography and historical content printed in both color and black and white—will be offered with five different covers, each featuring action photographs of inductees included in the book. The publication captures the excitement, achievements, and legacy of the SHoF Class of 2026.
