Skateboarding Hall of Fame to Announce Class of 2026
Inductees on January 15, 2026
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — Jan. 12, 2026 — The Skateboarding Hall of Fame and Museum (SHoF) will announce the Skateboarding Hall of Fame Class of 2026 on January 15 at 1:00 p.m. PST. A total of 18 new members will be inducted across multiple categories, honoring more than 50 years of skateboarding and skateboarding culture.
The announcement will be broadcast live on the SHoF’s Instagram and Facebook feeds, giving fans around the world the first opportunity to learn which skaters and icons have been selected for induction.
Induction Criteria and Selection Process
Each year, the SHoF updates its induction criteria. In general, selections are based on the impact an individual has had on skateboarding, whether within a specific era or discipline such as Freestyle, Downhill, Vertical Riding, or Street Skating. Additional considerations include trick innovation, contest achievements, magazine coverage, and video parts.
As a Hall of Fame dedicated not only to performance but also to legacy, SHoF also recognizes a skater’s broader influence on skateboarding culture. This includes contributions through music, art, photography, and other less tangible—but equally vital—forms of creative and cultural impact.
The selection process is inherently subjective. Like any art form, skateboarding excellence is open to interpretation. For the Class of 2026, the SHoF also invited participation from the global skateboarding community via an online ballot that was available at skateboardinghalloffame.org until January 12.
While not everyone will agree with every induction, each year represents a new opportunity to celebrate the skaters and visionaries who have helped shape skateboarding’s past, present, and future.
