Skateboarding Hall of Fame Inductees from the 1960’s era of skateboarding. This time period is mainly known as sidewalk surfing and the first mass produced skateboards flooded department stores across the USA. The wheels eventually went from metal roller skate wheels to clay and the first kicktail was added to skateboards in a patent by Larry Stevenson in 1969, but skateboarding had already suffered a mass exodus by then as the media portrayed skateboarding as extremely hazardous.
