1980’s Era 1 Skateboard Hall of Fame Inductees. All the skateparks of the late 1970’s dies off early in the decade except a few like Upland Pipeline, Del Mar Skate Ranch, and Kona Skatepark. Skateboarding was pretty dead for a while and skaters started a new craze, building back yard ramps to be able to continue skating. By the mid 1980’s skateboarding was back on the rise in popularity and when the Powell Peralta Bones Brigade VHS movies came out they catapulted skateboarding back into the big time. The tricks on vertical were becoming technical, the airs were getting blasted higher and farther. The personalities were getting unleashed.
