1990’s Skateboarding Hall of Fame Inductees. The 1990’s saw the death of the grandiose Vert Skateboarding evolve into modern street skating with a lot of help from Steve Rocco and World Industries.  You’ll notice some inductees in the Era 2 1980’s were street skaters. For the most part they were capable vert/tranny riders who took their vert boards to the streets. First industry thing to happen to accommodate all the street skaters was the ‘Mini’ version of pro skate decks, then came the double kicktail and popsicle shapes that have ruled until this day (2026). Handrails came into the scene and vert/curb lip tricks were done on rails and ledges around the world. Access to skateboarding for all with street skating! In 1995 the X Games also came along and got skateboarding in front of the masses on TV.
