Saecha Clarke – “This photo was taken by my mom outside our house in Huntington on my first launch ramp. It looks like I had a Schmitt Stix board at that time. I am pretty sure it was a dark grey wood stained Lucero deck with the little gremlin dude behind the bars. I had that Lucero board and also had the white painted color way of that same deck. To this day it is still one of my favorite board graphics.”
Saecha Clarke – This photo was in Portland Oregon. For a brief time my parents moved our family to Vancouver Washington. There was not a lot to skate there at that time. Fortunately across the river in Portland I happened to find a church that was known as “Skate Church”. It provided weekly skate sessions in the church parking lot. When it would rain they would even open up their doors to all the skaters and set up launch ramps, bank ramps, and pvc slider bars inside the church for us to skate. I don’t know what I would of done if I had not found a community that supported skateboarding for the time that I spent there. Unfortunately, my mom did not really know how to take skate photo’s. She was only able to capture me in this picture and did not even get the launch ramp in the shot. Never the less, I still like this photo because it brings back some great memories of that time. I had on some pretty wild grey and white tie-dyed pants, pegged and rolled at the bottom. It looks like I was doing a judo air and riding the Gonz board with all the flowers. That was another favorite board graphic of mine.
