I swam in the Combi pool, when they first built it they filled it with water to cure the cement. Summer in Upland is hot so they let us skaters swim in the pool. 30 or so kids jumping in from the side and just creating havoc. Not sure if that would be allowed today.

I clearly remember the “pool party”. My grandfather even added some chlorine and kept the pool filled longer with water for that long hot spell that summer.
